While we can make products, are the processes we use destructive? While these processes take a raw material input from one form and transform it into another, is this transformation a good thing, is the process we use effecting the potential life of the product we are producing and if so is there a better way to produce that is not, or not as, destructive.

I would like to introduce a term that I call “Destructive Manufacturing” and I define this as “a manufacturing process by which the raw materials of a finished product are altered or modified in a way that destroys characteristics of the raw material that are inherent or factory applied which ensure maximum life of the raw material”.

Just a thought to be explored further in the coming weeks.

If you have a view on this or if you have heard this term before I would appreciate your feed back to get more information.

I thank you in anticipation of any input.
